Global Wesleyan Leadership Program (GWLP)

  • Purpose

    Graduate (Graduate School of Theology, Graduate School of Pastoral Theology) Th.M. program or non-degree program to produce pastors and lay leaders that will exercise the Wesleyan spirit and spiritual leadership in the global mission field.

  • Eligibility

    Those who fall under either of the following, among applicants who have passed the international graduate admission process;

    • Applicants that fit the above mentioned purpose and that have been recommended by the bishop or pastor of their church or, recommended by a pastor or missionary of the Korean Methodist Church.
    • Those deemed by the Graduate School Committee to be equivalent as above.
  • Programs Offered

    • Master of Theology (Th.M.)Specially offered for missionary purposes. Those who have graduated from regular, foreign universities or those deemed by the Graduate School Committee to have equivalent qualification may apply.
    • Non-Degree Program (Research Program or Open Courses): Less than a year long. The eligibility is the same as above.
  • Enrollment Period and Credits

    • Th.M. ProgramThere are four semesters in a year. The program must be completed in 4 years with a minimum of 46 credits.
    • Non-Degree Program (Research Program or Open Courses)The program is 1-year long. It must be completed in 3 years. Students can earn less than 20 credits.

        • Glocal Mission and Wesley (3hr)
        • Practicing Wesley’s Means of Grace and Small Group Ministry (1hr)
      • Fall Semester
        • Wesley’s Leadership Today (3hr)
        • Understanding the Bible from Wesleyan Perspective (3hr)
        • Holistic Ministry of the Korean Churches (3hr)
        • Practicing Wesley’s Means of Grace and Small Group Ministry (1hr)
      • Winter Semester (Intensive)
        • Teaching Ministry for Wesleyan Leadership (3hr)

      Non-Degree Program (Research Program or Open Courses)

      Required Number of Semesters + Thesis (2 Credits)

      Details

      • All courses are taught in English.
      • Every semester, a renowned professor shall be invited and teach a Wesleyan Leadership course (3 Credits).
      • Apart from the Leadership courses, each semester, a new Wesleyan theoretical and practical course shall be established (Two 3-Credit Courses).
      • Spiritual training using the Wesleyan Means of Grace (1 Credit)
      • Students will be allowed to substitute up to 3 courses that they fail to complete with substitution courses or research assignments.
